Envisioning the library of the future: online survey

This survey by the Arts Council England may be of interest to UK readers.

They say:

In this survey we are interested in what people think the purpose of public libraries should be, and what people value about public libraries. We would like to know the views of people who currently use public libraries, and those who do not.

We know people are concerned about the impact of funding cuts and library closures, but the Arts Council is not a core funder of library services. The Arts Council’s role for libraries is to support their development and promote positive change in the libraries sector, and we want this to be informed by a real understanding of what you value about the public library service.

I’ve just completed the survey and it isn’t long. It might take a while to complete though, as the questions are very open and clearly aimed at encouraging reflection.
